This Pre Crisis Market Assessment (PCMA) exercise on vegetables built upon the experience gained by project and field staff during a similar assessment conducted for rice, which highlighted that vegetables are important commodities that provide households with access to cash during floods in both Bardiya and Kailali districts. This PCMA assessment was critical to understand the impact of floods on vegetable market systems and to recommend strategies and propose interventions that might be useful to their vulnerability.
