New ERC Consortium project tackles market assessment for multipurpose cash grants (and more)

As a follow-up to the ECHO-funded multipurpose grant guidance and toolkit (released in 2015), a new consortium has been formed by Save the Children UK, CaLP, DRC, Mercy Corps and OCHA - with ECHO financing - to operationalize the toolkit in two pilot countries.

The consortiom's aim is to design processes and tools to enhance inter-agency design of emergency responses to take MPG to scale, with a view to operationalize the Guidance & Toolkit. It will address inefficiencies related to the multitude of assessment efforts and MPG designs produced by multiple actors, which limit both the quality and scale of the responses.

More details are provided here.

If you have relevant materials, or are planning to develop or are already developing guidance and tools: to assess basic needs in emergencies, to conduct market assessment in multiple markets at the same time, to design multi-sector response frameworks, to assess financial services, and to monitor and evaluate cash transfer programmes, please contact Francesca Battistin at f.battistin [at] savethechildren.org.uk
